Throughout the portrait unit I too many photos that I really enjoyed, however the best from this unit came from when the escapade people were posing and we just took pictures. I also really enjoyed one of the pictures of Josh from the Dia De Los Muertos photoshoot. What I like about portrait photography is that we can control the studio lights. For instance, we had about 3 studio lights pointed somewhat directly at the subjects.
When editing these images I messed with the exposure and highlights. The escapade image of tallulah I took to photoshop and made the background a clear black because there was stdio lights and part of the wall showing. I made sure to get rid of that and make her the center of attention.
The strongest image from this series has to be the one of tallulah on the field goal doing the splits. My intention with this photo was o capture as much of the field goal as possible. I think this image is strong because I was able to capture almost all of the field goal, and you can clearly see her face. Its also super strong because of how awesome the sky looks, its a crispy blue combining with the white clouds. To achieve this image I had the ISO at 400, aperture at 3.5 and shutter speed at 1/1600. The challenges in capturing this image was getting her up there and then making the field goal fit into the frame.
